Christ will soon appear! How do I know? People don’t care—that’s how. The apathy in people’s hearts is rampant. Church pews are empty; the shelves at the local food bank are empty; people don’t want to work. And worse of all, they don’t want to get involved.
Jesus told us that when we feed the hungry, cloth the poor or visit the sick, we are doing these things to Him—and to the God who sent Him. Here in America, the majority of people don’t care what is going on. There are more that don’t vote for our leaders than do vote. People have a lot of excuses for not being involved. Unfortunately, the truth lies in their heart. They are more focused on their myopic worldly problems, then to raise their heads out of the sand. Most people in America do not see the destruction that is coming. They turn from God, as if it is a simple decision like picking a restaurant for an evening meal; not knowing our nation is destined for economic collapse, civil unrest and a bleak future. They don’t realize our government is out of control and our rights are on the verge of being taken away. Many of those who do realize, have just given up.
In the movie First Knight, Camelot fell to the enemy. King Arthur is told to kneel before his conquering adversary. Instead, he boldly shouts to the people “Never surrender; never surrender!” As arrows fill his body with pain and death, he holds on to freedom until his last breath. That is the same attitude that used to be American. Our people have risen up against tyranny in two world wars. Our people have answered the call for freedom, time and time again. However, that is no longer true.
Americans are surrendering. They are giving up on their country. People are allowing evil to win, and worse, they are turning away from God and our King. Our King told us He would return. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, a great falling away was predicted in the last days. We are witnesses to that prophecy being fulfilled. Europe has already fallen and their destruction is imminent. We are not far behind; but there is still time! Our fate is not yet sealed (2 Chronicles 7:14). We can still restore our relationship to our Creator. We can still turn America back to God. He is merciful and will heal our land, if we are willing. We just have to put our faith back in Jesus Christ, who comes soon to reign as King. And never surrender.
