Another Easter Sunday has passed. For some, this year’s most important religious holiday is now part of history and we can return to our normal lives. For others, it was just another day anyway. For Christians though, our journey does not end at the cross. Our faith does not end on Resurrection morning. This is just the beginning! We begin anew.
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is what we celebrate in this season and throughout the whole year. The resurrection of our Lord is what separates our faith journey from all other belief systems. No other religion serves a risen Lord. No other religion serves a person who was dead and now is alive, forevermore. They had no power over our greatest enemy, death. Jesus defeated death and lives for all eternity.
Every one of the other religious leaders died. Their flesh has melted away and their bones have turned to dust. They were merely humans. Christ, on the other hand, was divine AND human. Jesus was born to a virgin, lived as a human and died as a human. Evil assumed it had prevailed, and for anyone else, it would have. Not for Jesus; evil was defeated! Jesus lived and died like all the other religious leaders; but after three days, He arose! He came back to life for all eternity. And he promised us He would never leave us again (Matthew 28:20b).
Jesus Christ is still alive today, nearly two thousand years after the tomb. He is patiently waiting for the establishment of His kingdom to be fulfilled. Our Father, told Him to sit at His right hand until their enemies are made submissive to him.
“The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.” — Psalm 110:1
That time is almost here. Now that Christ arose, we need to sense the urgency of our time and spread His message. The Countdown to the Kingdom is almost complete. Now what? The Bible tells us what to do.
As a nation, we need to repent of our national sins and turn to God. The Book of Haggai showed us that we must put God First.
As an individual, you need to repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
- You need to pray more (Luke 18:1)
- You need to pray for Israel (Romans 10:1)
- You need to pray for Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6)
- You need to worship with other believers (Hebrews 10:25)
- You need to spread the Gospel (Matthew 28:19)
- You need to prepare for war (Exodus 15:3, Luke 19:27)
Christ has risen and the time is here for Him to assume His throne. The Kingdom of God is about to be established. That means this evil world we now live in is about to disappear. Evil is about to be vanquished for forever. Just as Christ arose on that third day defeating death. He will defeat all enemies. Now, instead of returning back to your normal life as Easter fades into history, I encourage you to move forward with Christ – as his kingdom conquers in righteousness and love. Happy Easter my friend, but more importantly, rejoice in the risen Lord!
